MWDBA – Baseball for All Ages

MWDBA Junior Representative Baseball Program

Background

MWDBA is responsible for the provision of representative pathway programs and opportunities to junior players who play in its associated competitions. These programs cater for players aged 9-15 years and consist of a ‘Development’ phase and an ‘Representative’ phase.

The Development/Trainee Coach MWDBA Junior Representative Program will be afforded the opportunity to work withingthe program in an effort to gain experience and improve their skills and knowledge. They will assist in the delivery of on-field training for players involved in all teams within the program. They should  ensure that an enjoyable, effective and high-quality baseball program is delivered to all participants. The Representative program takes place from late January to April/May/June depending upon the age group and success of the team.

Ultimately, MWDBA seeks to deliver a program that enables MWDBA Representative teams to be competitive and succeed at State and National Championships.

What you have to do to succeed?

  • Commit to following and implementing the ‘Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program – Playing Philosophy’
  • Abide by the ’Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program – Coaching Philosophy’
  • Commit to coaching under the parameters outlined in ‘Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program – Coach Expectations’
  • Assist the Head Coach, Team Managers (Head Coach) and Specialist Coaches at training sessions and games.
  • Attend meetings and workshops as scheduled by the Head Coach Manly Junior Representative Program

What do you need to succeed?

  • Level A or B Baseball Australia Coaching Accreditation
  • Experience coaching baseball
  • Understanding of and ability to incorporate and implement ‘Positive Coaching’ into program development and coaching methodology
  • Willingness to continue to develop as a coach and to participate coach education workshops and sub-groups
  • Current Working With Children Check
