The number of players selected into this program will be determined by player registration numbers, player ability levels and coach availability. This program will include one training session per week and participation in the following tournaments/competitions:

  • Practice games and mini tournaments against other Associations (October to December) matches are generally conducted on Sunday mornings
  • Warriors Cup (December) this is a 2-day weekend tournament

MWDBA’s focus for the Representative Development Program phase will be player and skill development. Players may be asked to play in positions that they may not regularly play in club games.

Representative Program

MWDBA will conduct an Representative  program from February to April for interested players in the Little League 10/11 age group. Players do not have to have been selected in or trialled for the Representative Development Program to be considered for the RepresentativeTeam, however, it would be deemed beneficial. Selection trials will be conducted in late January and early February.

The MWDBA Little League 10/11 Representative Team will train up to 2 times per week and compete in:

  • Practice games against other Associations (March) matches are generally conducted on Sunday mornings
  • Baseball NSW 10/11 State Championships – this event takes place in the April School Holidays

MWDBA’s focus for this Representative Team will be tournament success. The best players will be selected for the team and will regularly play in positions in the field where they are the strongest players. Players may be asked to play in positions that they may not regularly play in club games. The coach will have the ultimate authority to determine playing positions and the amount of playing time that each player receives (in conjunction with competition rules) during competitions/tournaments.

Cost: Approx $200 per player plus uniform
