Treasurer Wanted!

The treasurer is responsible for effective management of all financial transactions for the association. The main duties of the treasurer are to oversee the financial administration of the association, review procedures and financial reporting, and advise the board on financial strategy.

The treasurer is required to:

• Keep up-to-date records as well as audit trail for all transactions

• Protect the organisation against fraud and theft, ensuring safe custody of money and prompt banking

• Work with each of the 5 groups (Juniors, Minor League, State League, Junior Reps and MWDBA) to complete an annual budget and make sure all transactions remain within that budget.

• Complete annual audit with a registered auditor.

• Pay bills and track income and expenditure throughout the year.

• Update the board monthly with current financial situation and budget tracking.

• Attend monthly board meetings (first Monday of each month 7pm Manly Clubhouse)

Qualifications:

• Accounting or extensive financial statement analysis

• Familiarity with Xero, MYOB or similar a plus

Note that we currently have a very hardworking and professional bookkeeper that handles a lot of the administrative tasks. However, there is still a lot of oversight and work required. Last year MWDBA had just under $250k in revenue across the 5 groups.
