Coaching

MWDBA understands the impact a coach can have on an athlete.

As such, we require people to complete Level 1, 2 and 3 coaching courses which will:

  • Help you become the best coach you can be
  • Keep you updated on best practices
  • Give you the skill set to provide your players with the opportunity to develop their skills, gain knowledge and enjoy their baseball
  • So, if you wish to coach, either as a head, assistant, or specialist coach you are asked to attain accreditation.

Legal Responsibility

A coach has a duty of care to all participants under his/her care. This is a legal responsibility which cannot be overlooked, and applies to coordinators, administrators and teachers, as well as coaches. By becoming an accredited coach, you acknowledge awareness of your responsibility in fulfilling your legal responsibilities, as well as gain valuable, specific education on how to do manage and administer your duty of care.

Other Benefits

  • Learn a variety of games and activities that will assist with the development of young players fundamental movement skills, and baseball knowledge
  • Make the most of training sessions, learn how to achieve more in less time
  • Understand the importance of planning and preparation
  • Become better equipped to understand and meet a coach’s duty of care
  • Gain access to other resources to assist in coach education
