Representative Baseball Program Player Expectations

PROGRAM PLAYER EXPECTATIONS

MWDBA – Baseball for All Ages

The Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program has high expectations of you, your behaviour and your participation. There will be times when you cannot do your own thing. The following points are set out to assist us in developing you as a good person who makes a positive contribution to life and baseball and to promote the image of the Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program.  If you cannot follow these principles, then you may experience reduced game or training time or be asked to leave the program.

In general: do what is right, do your best, and treat others as you wished to be treated.

Be ON TIME:

Be on time for all baseball related activities.  The team WILL NOT wait on you. Take responsibility for being on time – do not blame your parents. Late players will jeopardise their opportunity to be a starting player in the game.

Come with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and be COACHABLE:

Come with a positive attitude, be coachable and ready to become a better baseball player. Our coaches want to work with players who are keen to be the best that they can be. You are in control of the amount of effort you put in.

Take PRIDE in your MANLY UNIFORM:

Be properly dressed at all times. It is an honour to wear the Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program uniform – always treat it with respect.

Play your ROLE on the TEAM:

Everyone has a role to play. If you would like a different role or one that someone else has, work harder to improve to change it. Everyone is different, most of the time your role will be what is best for the team.

All Reps Matter (ARM):

Practice hard at game speed when possible. Every repetition you make with the correct technique will make you a better player. When the pressure is on under game situations, good technique will enable you to succeed more often.

Make a POSITIVE contribution to the TEAM no matter what you are doing:

Field the ball. If you are not fielding a ball you are covering a base. If you are not covering a base, you’re backing someone up. If you are not backing someone up, you’re on the bench cheering for your team.

RESPECT the game and everyone in it:

Show respect to your coaches, teammates, officials, the opposition and umpires by being well mannered and accepting of everyone and the role that they play. Respect the game by accepting decisions, being positive and caring for equipment.

Be a positive ROLE MODEL:

Your actions and behaviour are noticeable, especially by people who are not involved on the Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program. Be a good positive role model for everyone, especially your club teammates who might not have the privilege of playing representative baseball.

ENJOY your OPPORTUNITY:

Baseball should be FUN! The opportunity you have to play in the Manly Junior Representative Baseball Program is a privilege that you will enjoy if you put in your best effort.

Use your VOICE:

If you have questions or concerns about your participation in this program use YOUR VOICE to discuss it with your coaches.

HUSTLE! HUSTLE! HUSTLE!:

Hustle EVERYWHERE!
